I’m hoping some drivers and helpers will post some of their opinions and stories here. I think some of the stuff we go through on an daily basis could make for some great reading and help educate the consumer at the same time. I think we could show others how interesting and dynamic our profession can be at times, especially neophytes looking into moving careers. We’re not all just a bunch of mindless grunts gnawing away at a dead-end existence with nothing better to do with our time than to throw other people’s belongings around all day. We like to hump furniture too and shamelessly drop hints for tips.

Please go through all your items and throw away all uneeded items. I moved a real packrat this weekend. He was a retired doctor around 68 years old. He was totally unprepared to move. A 750.00 move turned into a 1537.50 move and I still could’t finish the move. He has to haul the rest of the items (small things) in his car. If you do not go through your items in advance of your move you will pay considerably more. The move was so slow because my customer didn’t have his items separated. The move turned into a pack job, move, trash to dumpster, recycling nightmare. I made my money but not the way I like to. Also, the gentleman was in the way all the time.Find a mover you trust and leave them alone and let them do their job.
